Steve Testar is the Co-Founder and CEO of Showcase SA. In 2019 Steve saw an opening to deliver crucial work of supporting, connecting and showcasing South Australian businesses. Thus, Showcase SA was born. Steve’s passion for local business and his strong network of South Australian professionals has driven Showcase SA to where it is today. As a fiercely independent, proud locally owned and operated small business, we understand the challenges faced in the current
climate across the South Australian business community. At Showcase SA, we help to generate positive business outcomes through connecting our members with like-minded businesses across industries.
In 2000, armed with nothing but a backpack Steve booked a one-way ticket from England to Australia. Choosing Adelaide as his home, Steve ran residential and commercial property developments and architectural and building studios. Over
18 years, he ran some of the biggest projects in SA aiding to deliver thousands of dwellings, affordable home options, shopping centres, ovals, parklands and entire suburbs. He was involved in projects with some of the largest development companies in the state including; St Clair and Eyre which Steve was responsible for naming whilst at AVJennings and Chasecrown.
In 2016 Steve started his entrepreneurial journey launching Realis Property a bespoke property development sales and marketing business. He launched projects in Hong Kong and Singapore and launched Tonsley for Renewal SA and
Peet.
Steve’s devotion to helping South Australian businesses also extends to his charitable work. Partnering with Glam Adelaide and the Glam Adelaide Foundation, he raised nearly $500,000 for bushfire affected communities at the 2020 SA4SA Bushfire Appeal Gala, which resulted in Steve being awarded the 2021 City of Adelaide Citizen of the Year award for the Community Event of the Year. Showcase SA’s support for not-for-profit organisations continues into our CEO lunches where we aim to raise as much money for NFP’s as we can.
